316 Parent-Teen Ministry
Pastor: Chris Mangold
God's design for families as seen in Scripture is a gospel-centered, nurturing environment where training in godliness and life direction occurs. God intends the family to be the place where the gospel is taught and lived in the context of orderly relationships. Throughout the teen years, parents have primary responsibility in the training and discipleship of their children.
- The Gospel: In John 3:16, we see the clarity of the Gospel message laid out for people of all ages. At 316, our commitment will be to keep the Gospel at the center of our thinking and lives. The Gospel is the power of God for salvation, the source for real change and the hope we have for an eternity with God.
- The Scriptures: In 2 Timothy 3:16, we see the power of Scripture explained as God's means of instruction, teaching, correction and training in righteousness. Our commitment at 316 is to use the Word of God as the manual for life. We will pattern our lives after the instructions given to us and seek to apply and obey the Scriptures as they pertain to both young people and their parents.
- Life Together: In Colossians 3:16, our lives together are described as biblically rich, full of instruction, encouragement, worship, thankfulness and wisdom. This only happens if we are together. At 316, we are committed to providing contexts where young people can gather with friends, families can gather with families, and parents and young alike can experience biblical fellowship - sharing our current experience with God with one another.
The Parent-Teen Ministry of Sovereign Grace Church is designed to equip parents and teens to grow in their individual relationship with God as well as forging life long, God-honoring relationships with one another. We do this by small group and corporate meeting, service projects and events.
316 Meetings
The fourth Friday night of every month will be set aside for our corporate meetings. Parents come with teens for a time of worship and ministry, teaching and application, fellowship around snacks and don't forget the open gym with both volleyball and basketball. We expect to meet with God and build our relationships. Starting in January 2010, the entry age for 316 is 13 years old or older.
