Debra Bell Homeschool Seminar
"It's one thing to begin our homeschooling efforts from the basis of a biblical conviction that this is God's particular call for our lives. It's another thing to begin each day with a firm grip on the doctrines of grace in place in our hearts and our home. "
On April 11 and 12, Debra Bell will be joining us to inform and encourage parents about homeschooling. Friday night at 7:30 pm, she will give a coffee and dessert seminar on “Why Homeschooling?”. Please arrange your own childcare. Click here to register for the Friday night session.
Saturday morning, she will give two seminars. Doors open at 8:30 am and the first session will start promptly at 9:00 am. Cost per person is $5.00 and per couple is $10.00. Childcare will be provided. Her bio and more details on the seminar topics are below. Click here to register for Saturday morning.

"Why Homeschooling" (Friday Night Session)
Do you ever wonder what it is like to home school? Are you considering homeschooling as an option? Then this seminar will be constructive for you. Come and hear examples of how and why this educational choice can be richly rewarding for you and your family.
"Determining your Child's Learning Style" (Saturday AM Session I)
Save time, money and frustration! Before you buy anything, determine your child's learning style and then choose curriculum to match it. Does your son need "to do" to learn? Is your daughter motivated better in a group? Does your child need structure and routine or flexibility and independence? Four types of learners are explained with sample programs for each.
"Creative & Critical Thinking Skills" (Saturday AM Session II)
What are thinking skills and why all the fuss? This seminar challenges traditional teaching methods head on by outlining the best way to teach so your child can remember and use what he has learned-even when he is an adult. Analysis, synthesis, and evaluation are explained. You will receive samples of creative and critical thinking, as well as, suggested resources and activities that are uncomplicated, time-saving, inexpensive and effective.
