About Us

Biblical church life is characterized by a commitment to hearing and obeying God's Word, powerful worship, genuine relationships and a passion to influence the world with the good news of Jesus Christ. Sovereign Grace Church began in 1987, when several families and individuals relocated to Hampton Roads, Virginia with a vision to build a local church.

Our lives have been changed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Each Sunday morning, we gather together to express our heartfelt gratitude and love for our Savior in a service of celebration. Our Sunday service provides the context where we worship God together and hear the word of God proclaimed and taught as we grow in our mission as a Church.

What can you expect?

First, we come together with grateful hearts to worship and glorify God. So, you can expect to join us as we lift our voices through song and prayer in passionate worship to God.

Second, we come together to be refreshed by His presence, encouraged by His promises, and transformed by His truth. So, you can expect to encounter God with us in worship and in the preaching of God's word.

Third, we come together to encourage one another. So, you can expect to see people caring for each other through prayer, words of encouragement, and sharing our lives together.

As a visitor, you are welcome to attend a special guest reception held in your honor immediately following the service every Sunday. The reception is a great opportunity for you to learn more about our church from one of our pastors and to meet new people.

The service begins at 10:00 am on Sunday morning.
